Argentine Juan Martin del Potro fought his way into the semi final of the Cincinnati Open on Friday.
Qualifier Dmitry Tursunov, put up a decent fight as he won the second set 6-3, after del Potro’s double fault gave him the break point followed by an unforced error from the Argentine that gave him the break .
However, del Potro came back strong in the third set, breaking Tursunov’s serve in the second game to take a 3-0 lead. The former US Open champion, then went ahead 5-1 with another break to his name.
Del Potro closed the match in the next game and cruised into the semi final winning the match 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
