The ATP Masters in Paris next month will see a special team play in the Men’s Doubles as Indian ace Leander Paes will be seen partnering 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal. The news of the two coming together to play doubles was confirmed by the 42-year-old on Twitter earlier today.
This season has been a good one for Leander in terms of Grand Slams are concerned, winning the Mixed doubles title at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the French Open with Switzerland's Martina Hingis. However, he was knocked out of the Valencia Open in the quarterfinal stage, where he played with Lukasz Kubot in the Men’s Doubles.
The tournament will be of significance for Nadal as he continues his road to regaining prime form ahead of the ATP World Tour finals and beyond. In the ongoing season, Paes has partnered Stan Wawrinka at the Cincinnati Masters in August and prior to that, had Andy Murray as his partner at the Montreal Masters.
