
One of the two events of the Sunshine Double, the Miami Open, is a professional tennis tournament founded in 1985. It is an ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 tournament played in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. The Miami Open 2025 will be played from March 16, 2025, to March 30, 2025, with winners awarded 1000 points in singles and doubles. Itaú, an international bank, has been sponsoring the tournament since 2015.
The 2025 Miami Open will have 96 men’s and women’s athletes in singles and 32 teams competing in doubles. The tournament is designed to play on outdoor hard (laykold) courts. The defending champion, Jannik Sinner, has to withdraw from the tournament due to a three-month suspension from tennis suspension till May 4, 2025. Six-time Miami Open champion Novak Djokovic will return to court to lift the title for the seventh time. Danielle Collins, the winner in the WTA category, will be joined by three-time winners Victoria Azarenka, Aryna Sabalenka, and Iga Swiatek.
