Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli has pulled out of the Stanford Open due to a strained hamstring.
The WTA event, which is due to start next week, has already lost a big star in the form of Russian Maria Sharapova, who decided to give it a miss due to injury.
Talking about her injury, Bartoli said: “The injury has not completely healed.”
American player Mallory Burdette will replace the Bartoli in the tournament.
Absence of the French leaves the WTA event with World No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska as the only player in the Top 10 to be involved.
Samantha Stosur of Australia, ranked 13, is the only other player in Top 20 who will compete at the Open.
