Mate Pavic is a professional Croatian tennis player, who is one of the six men to achieve the Career Golden Slam status in the Doubles category. The 31-year-old is ranked World No. 1, as of December 2024, making him the 52nd player to hold the top ranking. With his noteworthy performance, he won 39 ATP doubles titles, which include winning six Masters 1000 titles. He emerged victorious at the 2024 Cincinnati Open with Marcelo Arevalo, defeating the team of Mackenzie McDonald and Alex Michelsen. Pavic achieved a Career Golden Slam by previously winning three major titles and an Olympic gold medal in 2020.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Pavic and Nikola Mektic defeated fellow countrymen Ivan Dodig and Marin Cilic by 6-4, 3-6, [10-6]. He reached the final of the 2018 French Open in doubles and mixed doubles and the 2022 Wimbledon in doubles. Pavic finished as a finalist at the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals, with Arevalo losing to Tim Putz and Kevin Krawietz. He reached back-to-back semifinals of the 2024 Eastbourne International, the 2024 Canadian Open and the 2024 Queen’s Club Championships. With Mektic, he helped Croatia succeed in winning the 2018 Davis Cup.
