Daniil Medvedev vs Karen Khachanov preview
Fourth seed Daniil Medvedev will take on 14th seed Karen Khachanov on Saturday (March 31) in the Miami Open semifinals.
The World No. 5 Medvedev beat Christopher Eubanks in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) to improve to a tour-leading 27-3 on the season. He's now 12-4 in Miami, reaching his first semifinal in the tournament after losing in the quarterfinals in the last two years.
The 27-year-old has been on fire since losing in the third round of the Australian Open to Sebastian Korda, winning 22 of his last 23 matches. That includes title runs in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai before his 19-match win streak was snapped by Carlos Alcaraz in the Indian Wells final earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the 16th-ranked Khachanov is also having an impressive Miami campaign. He saw off last year's semifinalist Francisco Cerundolo for the loss of five games to improve to 13-5 in 2023 and 6-6 in Miami, having never ventured beyond the third round.
Khachanov reached the quarterfinals at the Adelaide International 1 and the Adelaide International 2 before making the last four at the Australian Open. He's coming off a third-round loss at Indian Wells last fortnight.
Daniil Medvedev vs Karen Khachanov head-to-head
Medvedev has a 3-1 head-to-head lead over Khachanov, including their last meeting in the Adelaide International 1 quarterfinals this year, which the former won in straight sets. Khachanov's only win over his compatriot came in the Moscow semifinals five years ago.

Daniil Medvedev vs Karen Khachanov prediction
Both Medvedev and Khachanov are quintessential baseliners and tend to play their best tennis on hardcourt.
They have similar gamestyles -- big serve, powerful hitting off either flank and good movement. However, Medvedev is a counterpuncher par excellence and has shown an increasing proclivity to win points at the net to keep his opponent guessing.
Medvedev has had Khachanov's number for the most part, losing just once in four meetings. He has looked largely untroubled this week and is the fresher of the two players, having received a third-round walkover against Alex Molcan. Moreover, his red-hot form means Medvedev is likely to win again, but this one could go the distance.
Pick: Medvedev in three sets
