Daniil Medvedev vs Quentin Halys preview
Former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev will square off against World No. 79 Quentin Halys in the fourth round of the 2023 Miami Open on Tuesday.
Medvedev's 19-match winning streak came to an end in the final of the Indian Wells Masters earlier this month. A competitive contest was expected, but he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets without putting up much of a fight.
Following a first-round bye at the Miami Open, Medvedev eased past Roberto Carballes Baena to reach the third round. He was due to face Alex Molcan, who withdrew from the tournament because of an injury. As a result, the Russian made it to the fourth round via a walkover.
Halys, meanwhile, knocked out Pedro Martinez and Alex de Minaur to reach the third round, where he faced Mackenzie McDonald. The Frenchman held a couple of set points at 5-4 on his opponent's serve, but was unable to capitalize on his chances.
However, Halys was able to claim the opening set in the ensuing tie-break later on. Both players held multiple break points at the start of the second set, but got themselves out of trouble. The Frenchman then raised his level as he bagged four games in a row to win the match 7-6(2), 6-2.
Daniil Medvedev vs Quentin Halys head-to-head
The two have not faced off on the ATP tour prior to this, so the head-to-head stands at 0-0 for now.

Daniil Medvedev vs Quentin Halys prediction
Medvedev has played just one match in Miami so far, where he was completely dominant. Halys, on the other hand, is enjoying one of the best weeks of his career. Having never won a match at the Masters 1000 level, he has now made it to the fourth round.
The Frenchman blasted 15 aces in the previous round against McDonald and erased all six break points that he faced. Medvedev has been on a roll over the last few weeks, but Halys has nothing to lose in this encounter.
With a strong serve and a booming forehand, Halys has the potential to make this a tricky match for the Russian. Medvedev is quite an excellent returner, but can be at a disadvantage at times given his choice to return from way behind the baseline.
The former World No. 1 made it to the final at Indian Wells despite the conditions there not being conducive to his game. The relatively fast courts in Miami are right up his alley and Medvedev should be able to execute his game plan perfectly to advance further.
Pick: Daniil Medvedev to win in straight sets.
