Emma Navarro vs Camila Osorio preview
Second seed Emma Navarro will look to begin her campaign at the 2024 Monterrey Open when she takes on Camila Ososrio in the second round. The American player has been in good form in 2024. Her last two results include a semi-final run at the Canadian Open, losing to Amanda Anisimova, followed by a first-round exit at the Cincinnati Open at the hands of Mirra Andreeva.
Navarro had great success in the grass-court season, reaching the semi-final of the Bad Homburg Open, and later following up with a quarter-final run at Wimbledon, where she defeated second seed Coco Gauff in the fourth round, before losing to Jasmine Paolini. Being the second seed, she got an opening-round bye at the Monterrey Open.
Camila Osorio has had a mixed season in 2024. The Colombian won her home event, winning the Copa Colsanitas against Marie Bouzkova in the final. However, her other results have not been exemplary as she has bowed out of the other tournaments in the early rounds.
Osorio also had a decent run at the Olympics, reaching the round of 16 before losing to Danielle Collins despite bageling the American player in the first set. At the Monterrey Open, the World No. 88 defeated Ajla Tomljanovic in the opening round in straight sets.

Emma Navarro vs Camila Osorio prediction
Navarro is having a breakthrough season in 2024, having made it to the top 15. Currently, she sits at her highest career ranking of 13 after a string of good performances. Her hard court form has been splendid as she made the semis in Canada, and won her only title of the year on the same surface at the Hobart International beating Elise Mertens in the final.
Osorio's better part of good performances this year have come on clay. The Colombian has not fared well on hard courts in her career, winning only 45 percent of the matches. However, she is a former runner-up at the Monterrey Open, having reached the final in 2022, losing to Leylah Fernandez.
Given their form in 2024, the American should be able to prevail over her Colombian opponent.
