Jannik Sinner vs Maxime Cressy preview
Second seed Jannik Sinner will face Maxime Cressy in the final of the Open Sud de France on Sunday.
The Italian entered the ATP 250 event following a fourth-round exit at the Australian Open. He did not play his first match at the Open Sud de France until the quarterfinals due to his seeding and Marton Fucsovics' withdrawal.
Sinner booked his place in the semifinals with a 6-4, 6-2 win over compatriot Lorenzo Sonego. In the semis, he faced French teenager Arthur Fils and won a tight opening set 7-5. The 21-year-old dominated the second set and clinched it 6-2 to seal his berth in the final.
Maxime Cressy was unseeded at the Open Sud de France and started with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Antoine Bellier. He then ousted seventh seed Emil Ruusuvuori 6-4, 6-4 to seal his place in the quarterfinals.
In the quarters, the 25-year-old eliminated third-seed Borna Coric 7-6(2), 6-4, to set up a semifinal clash against top seed Holger Rune. Cressy won the opening set 7-5 against Rune, but the Dane fought back to take the second 7-6(3) and force the match into a decider.
Both players served well in the final set and it went to a tie-break, which Cressy won 7-4 to book his place in the final.

Jannik Sinner vs Maxime Cressy prediction
Sinner will enter the match as the heavy favorite to win given his quality and the fact that Cressy might be tired after playing a tedious singles match followed by a doubles fixture.
The Italian has an aggressive baseline style and will look to be attacking from the start of the match. He hits strongly from both his forehand and backhand and has a pretty effective serve. However, it will be tested by Cressy's return game. The American loves to come to the net so Sinner could try a few lobs to make things difficult for him.
Cressy is among the best servers on tour and will be eager to get as many free points as he can. The American's serve-and-volley style has guided him to many victories and he will have to be at his absolute best to stand a chance against Sinner. He is also prone to double-faults and cannot afford to gift too many of those against the Italian.
While Cressy has dazzled spectators with his relatively unconventional style, Sinner looks in good touch and should be able to beat him to win his seventh ATP singles title.
Pick: Sinner to win in straight sets.
