Easy victory over Dimitrov

World No. 8 Andy Murray sealed a spot in the season-ending ATP tour finals in London for the seventh year in a row. He qualified for the tournament after beating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the third round of the Paris Masters 6-3, 6-3.

The 2013 Wimbledon champion won the match in 69 minutes, converting 27 out of 29 first-serve points.

After the victory, Murray "There were no 'downs' really in the match. In some of the matches that I've had against the top, top players, I've had some periods in the match where my level had dropped off a little bit, and the best players capitalise on those moments.” he said.

Sixth player to qualify

Murray is the sixth player after Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka Marion Cilic and Rafael Nadal to qualify for the indoor tournament. Nadal, however, withdrew due to an appendix surgery that he is set to undergo next week.

The 27-year-old, qualified for the tournament last year as well but couldn’t take part then. Murray’s win at the Erste Bank Open, earlier this month, also made him the fifth player to win 30 titles in his career after Federer (82), Nadal (64), Djokovic (46) and Lleyton Hewitt (30).

No British player has ever won the season-ending finals and Murray will be looking to become the first man from the United Kingdom to win the tournament.
