Gold medalist in the Delhi Commonwealth Games Gagan Narang‘s name is recommended for the highest award in the Indian sports ‘Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna’ award. Narang, who added 4 golds to India’s medal tally at the commonwealth games, is the 24th sports person of the country to get this award.
It is noteworthy that Narang was unhappy with the selection committee last year for not getting the Khel Ratna even after spectacular performances. Narang is the first Indian to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
