The TCU men's tennis team registered a narrow victory over Texas in the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship final. Meanwhile, Texas A&M tasted glory in the women's National Championship final, as they put Georgia to the sword.
TCU found themselves 3-2 down at one point. However, Jack Pinnington came to their rescue as he got the better of No. 2 Texas' Elliot Spizzirri 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 to even things up. It was a monumental victory considering Spizzirri's position at the top of the ITA singles rankings throughout the regular season.
Sebastian Gorzny decided the match in TCU's favor, defeating the Longhorns' Jonah Braswell 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. The victory marked the first NCAA Division I title for the TCU men's tennis team. It also helped them become the second Big 12 program to become the NCAA Division I men's champion. Interestingly, it was Texas who became the first Big 12 program to achieve the feat back in 2019.
