Third seed Alex Michelsen will take on Aleksandar Kovacevic in the quarterfinals of the Hall of Fame Open.
After a first-round bye, Michelsen was up against Maxime Cressy, who won the title here a couple of years ago. However, the teenager proved too good for the former champion, breaking his serve once in each set to score a 6-4, 6-4 win.
Kovacevic beat Harold Mayot 7-6 (1), 6-4 in his opener to set up a second-round date with another Frenchman, seventh seed Arthur Rinderknech. The American raced ahead 3-0 in the first set thanks to an early break and maintained the lead to claim the set.
Kovacevic had a break-point chance on two of Rinderknech's service games at the start of the second set. However, he fumbled those opportunities, which came back to bite him. The Frenchman didn't stumble when he had a break point of his own in the sixth game.
After snagging that break of serve, Rinderknech was able to take the second set. Kovacevic led 4-1 in the decider only for his opponent to claw his way back and level the score. The American snagged one final break of serve in the last game of the match to register a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 win.

Michelsen played a rather solid match to oust Cressy in the previous round. He struck 20 winners against six unforced errors, and even put together 13 points in a row. He didn't lose his serve even once and won 77 percent of his first serve points.
Kovacevic punched above his weight to get the better of seventh seed Rinderkench. He fired 30 winners during his win, and his unforced error count was only a third of it. It marked his first main draw win on grass this year.
Michelsen rallied from a set down to beat Kovacevic when they previously crossed paths at the Geneva Open a couple of months ago. This is the teenager's second quarterfinal on grass this season, having made the last eight at the Mallorca Championships as well.
Michelsen has also been in better form than Kovacevic this year and has more than twice as many wins as him to boot. The 19-year-old has a good shot to one-up his older compatriot once again.
Pick: Alex Michelsen to win in three sets.
