Christopher Eubanks vs Ethan Quinn preview
After a first-round bye, fourth seed Christopher Eubanks will take on Ethan Quinn in the second round of the Hall of Fame Open.
After a breakthrough season last year, Eubanks has failed to back up his success this year. He reached the second round of the Australian Open and the Dallas Open. Following a third-round exit from the Miami Open, he lost in the first round of his next six tournaments.
Eubanks snapped his losing skid at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, where he made the quarterfinals. Despite a positive start to the grass swing, he was knocked out in the first round of the Mallorca Championships, where he was the defending champion.
The American then headed to Wimbledon, where he reached the last eight the previous year. His time at the All England Club was rather brief this time as he lost to qualifier Quentin Halys in the first round.
Quinn received a wildcard to compete in the Hall of Fame Open, and was drawn against Marc Polmans in the opening round. The two initially kept up with each other in the first set, though the American soon pulled ahead as he went on a four-game run to take the set.
Polmans led by a break in the second set only for him to relinquish his advantage down the line. However, he came out on top in the tie-break to claim the set. Quinn regrouped quickly in the decider as he conceded only one game in the third set to win the match 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-1.
Christopher Eubanks vs Ethan Quinn head-to-head

Christopher Eubanks vs Ethan Quinn prediction
After losing a closely-fought second set, Quinn stormed back in the third set to win the match decisively. He finished the contest with 30 winners and had half as many unforced errors, and won 68 percent of his first serve points. It marked his second win at the ATP level, with his first coming a year ago at the same venue.
Eubanks broke into the top 40 after a successful grass swing last year. However, after failing to defend those points this season, he has now dropped out of the top 100. With a 6-15 record for the year, the American's rough patch has been going for a long time.
However, given Quinn's relative inexperience on the tour, this could be a great opportunity for Eubanks to score a much-needed win. The latter has shown that he can play some great tennis on grass. The 28-year-old could still lose given his form but he still remains the favorite given his past results.
Pick: Christopher Eubanks to win in three sets.
