American model Tyra Banks made an appearance at the Rod Laver Arena during Aryna Sabalenka's 2025 Australian Open semifinal against Paula Badosa. Sabalenka, the Belarusian star, is defending her title for the second consecutive year as she aims for a rare three-peat in Melbourne.
On Thursday, January 23, Sabalenka and Badosa, close friends off the court, faced off for a spot in the coveted 2025 Australian Open final. Among the crowd was a special guest—American supermodel, television personality, and entrepreneur Tyra Banks.
Banks rose to fame as the first Black woman to grace the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She further solidified her legacy by creating and hosting the reality TV series America's Next Top Model and The Tyra Banks Show.
With her diverse ventures, Banks has built a net worth of $90 million (Source: Celebrity Net Worth). She was spotted in the stands wearing an elegant all-black ensemble, which fully covered her hair.
Meanwhile, on the court, Sabalenka and Badosa traded breaks early in the match. However, the Belarusian eventually served for the set and closed it out 6-4 in a little less than an hour.

After a tightly-dontested first set, the second set proved far more straightforward for Aryna Sabalenka as Paula Badosa was broken early and struggled to recover. The Belarusian ultimately closed out the match with a commanding 6-4, 6-2 victory over her close friend.
Sabalenka lightheartedly addressed their off-court bond during her post-match interview. Acknowledging the emotional toll of competing against a friend, the Belarusian joked:
"I hope she's still my friend. Probably she hates me for the next, I don't know, hour or a day too. I'm OK with that, I can handle that."
"After that, I think we're back to being friends, back to going out together, shopping. Paula, we go shopping, and I pay for whatever you want—maybe with a limit because she can go crazy," she added.
However, moments later, the pair was seen chatting and having a laugh in the player's area.
Aryna Sabalenka is chasing history in Melbourne and she can join the likes of Margaret Court, Evonne Goolagong, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, and Martina Hingis in an elite list of women to win the Australian Open thrice in a row. She will face Madison Keys in the final on Saturday, January 25.
