Novak Djokovic recently donned a special golden bag, adorned with five different-colored rings and 40 smileys, which signified some of the biggest triumphs of his career. The Serb brought out the bag for the first time while coming out for a practice session ahead of the 2024 US Open.
The 37-year-old finally clinched the elusive gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics to become the fifth player in history to win the career Golden Slam. Since 2008, when he made his Olympic debut and won bronze, the 24-time Major champion has struggled at the event. He came to Paris this year intending to take the gold and hence, only focused on singles.
The World No. 2 kicked off his campaign with a routine win over Matthew Ebden and followed it up with a statement win against longtime rival Rafael Nadal. He then ousted Dominik Koepfer, Stefanos Tsistipas, and Lorenzo Musetti in the subsequent rounds to reach his maiden Olympic final.
The Serb played Carlos Alcaraz in a hard-fought match where he prevailed 7-6(3), 7-6(2) to finally clinch the gold medal.
During the Australian Open earlier this year, the former World No. 1 had donned a black-grey bag that displayed four badges of the colors blue, red, green, and yellow representing his triumphs at each Slam, and a black and yellow badge for his triumphs at the ATP year-end finals. There were also 40 smileys in the bottom of the bag which stood for his 40 Masters 1000 titles.
After winning the gold, Djokovic's sponsors HEAD prepared a special bag to celebrate his triumph in Paris. During a pre-tournament practice session at the US Open, he walked out with a golden bag with the same five badges and 40 smileys. He also walked out with the same bag during his opening-round matches at Flushing Meadows.

Novak Djokovic will play 28th seed Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the 2024 US Open, in what will be the fourth meeting between the two with the former leading 3-0. They have already faced each other at the Australian Open and Wimbledon with both meetings going the Serb's way.
While the 37-year-old ousted Radu Albot in the first round, his second-round opponent Laslo Djere had to retire in the third set. On the other hand, Popyrin defeated Kwon Soon-woo and Pedro Martinez in his first two rounds without dropping a set.
Alexei Popyrin is riding high on confidence having won the Canadian Masters in Montreal recently.
The winner of their match will play the winner of the match between Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round.
