Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian celebrated his team, Los Angeles Golf Club, starting their TGL season with a win over Tiger Woods-led Jupiter Links Golf Club. Ohanian is an avid sports enthusiast, who co-owns NWSL's Angel City FC.

The match, held at the SoFi Center, saw Los Angeles Golf Club secure a commanding 12-1 victory. Meanwhile, Jupiter Links Golf Club fell behind 5-0 after the first four holes and trailed 8-1 by the end of the triples competition.

Tech entrepreneur Ohanian shared Los Angeles Golf Club's post on X and wrote:

In addition to Ohanian, his wife, 23-time Major champion Serena Williams, co-owns Los Angeles Golf Club and was present to support the team in their TGL debut on Tuesday, January 14. Notably, the match also marked Tiger Woods' debut in the league's inaugural season.

The league kicked off its inaugural season on January 7, 2025, following a postponement from the planned schedule in 2024. The opening match, held at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, featured The Bay Golf Club securing a commanding 9-2 victory over New York Golf Club.

Speaking to the TGL in 2023, Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian revealed why he chose to invest in the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). The 41-year-old shared that his daughter Olympia’s interest in golf, inspired his investment in Los Angeles Golf Club, aiming to create a lasting legacy for his family and others.

“To wit, my wife Serena [Williams] and I have enjoyed as Olympia’s taken a liking to golf. This is another piece of the legacy I’m building for my family and I hope this team can become a part of many families’ lives, too,” Ohanian said.

Ohanian described Los Angeles as the ideal location for their TGL team and emphasized his mission to revolutionize golf for fans worldwide.

"Los Angeles is the perfect home for our TGL team. This city embodies the intersection of sports, technology, and entertainment, making it an ideal backdrop for the innovation and excitement we aim to bring to the world of golf and its fans,” he added.

Ohanian has often shared his love for golf through numerous sessions with his daughter Olympia. The Reddit co-founder married Williams in 2017, welcoming Olympia shortly before their wedding. Their second daughter Adira River Ohanian arrived in 2023.
