American tennis star Taylor Fritz has recently sparked a frenzy off the court, thanks to his new blonde hair makeover. Addressing the media frenzy surrounding his new look, Fritz humorously revealed that the drastic hair change was all in good fun.
For the past three years, Fritz has flirted with the idea of bleaching his hair, regularly polling his followers on Instagram about it. However, it wasn’t until recently, at an event at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 17, that fans got a glimpse of what appeared to be the long-awaited blonde debut.
Sharing the stage with Norwegian DJ and record producer Kygo, Fritz made a cameo during the artist’s performance of 'Stargazing.' A video shared by sports commentator Steve Weissman on X (formerly Twitter) revealed Fritz sporting a hat with just a few blonde strands peeking out, causing fans to speculate about whether the tennis star had finally gone through with his bleach job.

On October 22, 2024, Fritz finally confirmed the transformation via his Instagram story, humorously explaining his motivations:
"A lot of people asking me why? ... No reason other than I just thought it would be funny. After seeing all the reactions and overreactions, I was right, it’s hilarious."
Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle opens up about the hilarious reason behind her boyfriend's new blonde look
Taylor Fritz's girlfriend Morgan Riddle humorously admitted she was as surprised as fans when her boyfriend unveiled his bleached hair. Many fans sought an explanation from Riddle, who had initially ignored her boyfriend's transformation.
However, she finally broke her silence, confirming that Fritz had indeed dyed his hair blonde after she reunited with him in LA following her United States Grand Prix stint.
Previously against the idea, Riddle clarified that she had no say in his decision.
"I didn’t think you actually would. I thought you were just getting a hair cut," she wrote in the conversation.
"Oh My God," Riddle added.
"Would just like everyone to know I was also blindsided by this," she said, addressing the fans.
Riddle also humorously pointed out that fans were comparing Fritz’s new look to that of American DJ Diplo.
"When I open my phone to dms that my bf looks like diplo now," she joked.
This playful experiment comes on the heels of Fritz’s semifinal run at the Shanghai Masters, where he was narrowly defeated by the eventual runner-up Novak Djokovic in straight sets. Fritz now sets his sights on the upcoming Paris Masters, running from October 28 to November 3.
