Alex de Minaur's girlfriend Katie Boulter questions him over his ill-fitted jacket during vacation; Reilly Opelka issues amusing response

Alex de Minaur's girlfriend Katie Boulter recently questioned him over an oversized jacket that he sported during the couple's vacation in the tennis off-season. Reilly Opelka later replied, rather hilariously, to the Brit's question about the Aussie's jacket.

The romantic relationship between Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter began in March 2020. However, the couple initially decided to keep things low-profile, even sitting separately for breakfast on tour so no one suspects anything. De Minaur and Boulter though, chose to go public with their relationship a year later.

Recently, the ATP World No. 9 and the WTA World No. 24 headed for an outing together in Leicestershire, a county in the East Midlands of England. De Minaur posted a series of pictures from the outing via Instagram.

"Couple slow pace days never felt so good," de Minaur captioned the post.

To keep themselves warm in the cold English weather, both Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter put on jackets. However, the Aussie's jacket appeared oversized compared to his own physical stature.

Katie Boulter later commented on the post, asking:

"Who’s jacket is that?"

Reilly Opelka, a former World No. 17, who, at 6 feet 11 inches tall is tied with Ivo Karlovic for the tallest-ever ATP-ranked player, issued a hilarious response to the Brit's comment, writing.

"Looks like it could be mine"

De Minaur soon replied to Opelka, playfully defending his choice of jacket on his and Boulter's Leicestershire outing.

"Oversized is fashion right?" de Minaur quipped.

De Minaur and Boulter were recently given a 'Couple Goals' award by the ATP Tour, which drew a humorous response from the Aussie.

Earlier in November, the ATP Tour presented an award for 'Couple Goals' to de Minaur and Boulter. The award took the Aussie by surprise, and he later delivered a comedic acceptance speech, playfully joking that the couple had dedicated themselves from the start of the season to win the award.

"Wow, this is a dream come true. Honestly, at the start of the year, I had a talk with Katie, I sat her down and I was like 'We need to take this more seriously because we need to win this award'. Honestly, I would call her right now and tell her that we've won the award but she's flying, so, it's a shame. I will let her know and I wouldn't be surprised if she's got some tears of excitement running down her face," de Minaur said.

De Minaur's 2024 season ended at the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals, where he lost all three of his Round Robin phase matches against Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz. Boulter last competed at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, where she helped Great Britain reach the semifinals.
