Alexander Zverev addressed the moment he was heckled over domestic abuse allegations involving his ex-girlfriends Olga Sharypova and Brenda Patea. The incident occurred following his loss in the final of the 2025 Australian Open.
Zverev endured yet another heartbreak in Melbourne on Sunday, January 26, as he faced Sinner at the Rod Laver Arena. Just one victory away from claiming his maiden Grand Slam, he fell short with a 3-6, 6-7(4), 3-6 defeat.
After his loss, as the German prepared to give his speech, a woman in the audience interrupted him. Loudly and clearly, she shouted, "Australia believes Olya and Brenda," referencing his ex-girlfriends.
Later, during a press conference, Alexander Zverev was asked to address the incident. He said the accusations had already been resolved, and that he had no intention of revisiting the subject.
"I believe there are no more accusations. There haven't been for, what, nine months now. Good for her. I think she was the only one in the stadium who believed anything in that moment. If that's the case, good for her," he said.
"I think I've done everything I can, and I'm not about to open that subject again," he added further.
