Amanda Anisimova and Learner Tien have secured a wild card entry into the main draw spots for the 2024 US Open after winning the Wild Card Challenge. However, rising stars such as Alycia Parks and Robin Montgomery missed out as they finished second and third in the Challenge.
The US Open Wild Card Challenge is a challenge that is used to award wild cards into the main draw at the US Open. The aforementioned Challenge began on July 1 for men and July 15 for women and lasted through the week of August 5.
Tien clinched the men's singles wild card, with 109 points as he was the American man with the highest number of points earned from July 1 through the week of August 5. Tien secured the wildcard courtesy of a title victory at the Bloomfield Hills Challenger, a semifinal run at the Chicago Men's Challenger, and a quarterfinal run at the Lexington Challenger.
On the women's side, Amanda Anisimova has successfully secured a wild card for the main draw at the final Grand Slam of the season. She got a wild card, thanks to her quarterfinal run at the Citi Open and reaching the finals at the National Bank Open (WTA 1000 event). Due to her exploits, she won a whopping 783 points during the stipulated timeframe and also set a record for the highest points in the US Open Wild Card Challenge.
Alycia Parks finished second in the race with 133 points while Robin Montgomery finished third with 110 points.

Amanda Anisimova, who made a comeback to the tour this year after a mental health break, was delighted to accomplish a small goal of breaking into the top 100. During a press conference after her quarterfinal victory against Aryna Sabalenka at the National Bank Open, the American talked about the goals she wanted to accomplish throughout her career.
"Yeah, I mean, I still hopefully have many more years left in my career, and there are many goals that I have for myself that I want to accomplish throughout my career. Like a small one for this year was to break into the top 100, and I've already done that, so I'm really happy about that," Anisimova said.
Anisimova also divulged her long-term goals, such as winning a Grand Slam and being the World No. 1.
"It's just small steps in the right direction to hopefully achieve the things that I want to be able to achieve, like winning a Grand Slam, and becoming No. 1 one day, so, yeah, I just, I hope that with all the training I do and staying healthy I can get to that point," she said.
