Amanda Anisimova has seemingly done away with her natural blonde look. The former World No. 21 recently shared two pictures of herself after dying her hair dark brown.

Anisimova made her professional debut in 2016, but her breakthrough on the WTA Tour came three years later. She marked her maiden WTA Tour-level title triumph at the 2019 Copa Colsanitas. Anisimova also reached the semifinals of the 2019 French Open and reached her career-high ranking of World No. 21 later in the year.

After enduring disappointing seasons spanning 2020 and 2021, which saw her drop out of the top 75, Amanda Anisimova bounced back in 2022. A second WTA Tour-level titile at the Melbourne Summer Set 2 and a quarterfinal finish at that year's Wimbledon Championships helped her break back into the top 25.

Following a mental health break in 2023, she returned to action earlier this year and registered her best finish of the season at the National Bank Open in Toronto (runner-up to Jessica Pegula). Recently, Anisimova took to her Instagram Stories and revealed her new hair color via two pictures. She playfully captioned the first picture:

In August this year, in the buildup to the final of the National Bank Open in Toronto, Anisimova had lashed out at a critic for ridiculing her weight.

Anisimova laid bare her ambition to become the top-ranked women's singles tennis player in the world following her resounding win over Aryna Sabalenka in the quarterfinals of the 2024 National Bank Open in Toronto. She also expressed her desire to become a Major champion one day.

"It's just small steps in the right direction to hopefully achieve the things that I want to be able to achieve, like winning a Grand Slam and becoming No. 1 one day, so, yeah, I hope that with all the training I do and staying healthy, I can get to that point," Anisimova said.

However, a critic of the then-22-year-old ridiculed her over her ambitions on X (formerly Twitter), and called her 'overweight'. Anisimova soon caught wind of the critic's remark and fired back.

"Don’t you have anything better to do than comment on a 22-year-old’s body? Like do you have a job or friends? Damn dude trust me, I’m okay and I don’t think anyone here is asking for your advice lolz," Anisimova wrote.

The 22-year-old's 2024 season ended at the Wuhan Open in October. While Anisimova won her first-round match at the WTA 1000 event, she withdrew from the tournament ahead of her scheduled second-round encounter against Marta Kostyuk with an unspecified injury.
