Tennis couple Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko have reportedly unfollowed each other on Instagram. The Russian has also taken down their couple photos from her profile.
Potapova and Shevchenko started dating each other at the beginning of 2023 and the Russian opened up about her relationship during the French Open last year.
She admitted that she wasn't sure how they were going to make their relationship work since scheduling in tennis was an arduous task to overcome. However, she was delighted with the fact that they were able to spend a lot of quality time together.
“Obviously, I didn’t know how it was going to work because scheduling in tennis is never easy. But somehow we’ve been able to manage it and in fact, it’s like we’ve spent every week together and we see each other a lot, which is a very good thing,” Potapova told Tennis.com.
She also explained the perks of having someone who not only had a high tennis knowledge but also a wished the best for you. The Russian said she could find support in Shevchenko even if she had a bad day at the office and hence was happy to have found her.
“It’s really helpful to have someone who can support you, not just on your team, but someone you’re close to,” she explained. “He’s someone who not only knows tennis but also wants what is best for you. Even if I play like shit, he’s still going to support me, so that’s very nice to have someone like this on the tour. He understands.”
The couple, in a now taken-down post, announced their engagement in September adding them to the list of tennis couples. They later got married in December last year.
However, in a sudden turn of events, Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko have followed each other on Instagram, and not only that, the Russian has also taken down all of her photos together with the Kazakh from her profile.
