Roger Federer and Nick Kyrgios are featured on Brad Gilbert's list of the best servers on the ATP tour, counting down from the 1980s to the present.

On March 5, Serena Williams' former coach Patrick Mouratoglou shared his ranking of the five all-time best serves on the ATP tour. His list featured Pete Sampras in fifth place, Ivo Karlovic in fourth and Andy Roddick in third. John Isner took the second spot while Nick Kyrgios was named the all-time best server by the Frenchman.

Mouratoglou's ranking has led to a lot of debate in the tennis community, most notably about the exclusion of Roger Federer from the list. Brad Gilbert joined the conversation with a more comprehensive breakdown of who he considers to be the best servers on the ATP tour.

Beginning from the 1980s-1990s, Gilbert listed Pete Sampras, Boris Becker and Goran Ivanisevic as having the most effective serve, in that order. Roger Federer took the top spot in the 2000s, followed by Andy Roddick and Ivo Karlovic. Federer featured twice on the list as he took the third spot in the 2010s to 2020s timeframe following Nick Kyrgios and John Isner.

Brad Gilbert provided some honorable mentions to players like Richard Krajicek and Milos Raonic, among others. He also gave a shout-out to Rafael Nadal, who has won 57.2% of second-serve points over his career.

A fan opined that Sampras, Becker and Ivanisevic, coupled with Isner and either Kyrgios or Roddick, were the top five best servers in tennis history.

Gilbert replied to the fan, stressing that Federer's consistency and longevity set him apart from other players, making him a permanent fixture in the all-time best server conversation.

Liam Broady shared his discontent with Patrick Mouratoglou's list of the all-time best servers on the ATP tour. Taking to Twitter, he emphasized that the 20-time Grand Slam champion had to be part of the list for his beautiful serve.

Broady also mentioned Novak Djokovic, who he considers to be the most underappreciated server of all time.

"Federer has to be on this list. Has to be. Most beautifully underrated serve. Djokovic most underrated server of all time though," Broady wrote.

Roger Federer currently ranks 10th on the ATP service leaderboard based on his service statistics over his entire career.
