Andre Agassi created the ‘perfect’ tennis player by attributing specific skills to the players who excel the most in those areas. His 'perfect' player included the skills of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, John Isner, and himself.

In a video posted by the US Open's official X account, Agassi was asked to create the 'perfect' tennis players. He was provided with five attributes and he had to decide which player excels most at it.

The first attribute was serve and Agassi claimed it's the 'easiest one to get rid of because it's the only standalone shot in tennis'. The American believes John Isner was the best server in the game.

"Never got to play him. Thank God, he would have been a nightmare. You have to go John Isner," Agassi said.

The eight-time Major champion was impressed with how no one 'made the box as big as Isner made it.'

The next attribute was forehand. Agassi mentioned how you can judge a forehand and decided to go with Roger Federer.

"So many ways to judge a forehand - versatility, return, options. I probably would go Federer."

Agassi chose himself for the backhand shot. He explained his decision and claimed that the shot paid his bills.

"[For backhand] I'm sticking with mine. If my racquet's on it although it might not be on as many balls as some other guys... I always knew exactly where I was gonna hit it and I wasn't gonna hesitate."

Agassi had three names in mind for speed: Carlos Alcaraz, Alex de Minaur, and Tommy Paul.

"It's the transition people that you really have to worry about, right?... I would worry most about Alcaraz, second Paul, and third De Minaur because they're fine being on defence but they are going to try to turn that point around. So, I go Alcaraz."

The last attribute was mentality; Novak Djokovic was Agassi's go-to man.

"Without question, I go Novak Djokovic," he said.
When Novak makes up his mind that he's going to lock down... He's going to go up a level. You see him use his speed defensively, lock down mentally, and you see him recognize when the tone of the match needs to change," Agassi concluded.

Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi dominated the ATP Tour in the 1990s. When Agassi was thinking of players to make his 'perfect' tennis player, he thought of his former rival twice but could not accommodate him.

In the service attribute, Agassi claimed Sampras had 'the greatest serve ever for a normal-sized person'.

"I think his mechanics, the way he transferred that movement might be the greatest execution of any kind of sporting activity in the world. It was the most beautiful thing you could ever see," Andre Agassi said.

Further, when choosing the player for forehand, the 54-year-old said Sampras' running forehand was better than Federer's.
