Andy Murray lightheartedly blamed X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk in a tweet for the "interesting algorithm" he’s created on the platform. Musk initiated and completed its acquisition in 2022 for $44 billion before rebranding it months later.

Murray took to X to share that the top 17 posts on his feed were from Musk, whose net worth is $440 billion:

"The top 17 posts on my Twitter feed are from Elon Musk 😂 interesting algorithm he’s created."

In 2022, as Musk's deal to acquire the social media platform began, an X account revealed the number of followers lost by several tennis personalities. Among them, Serena Williams lost over 3,500 followers, Martina Navratilova lost more than 1,500, and Murray, who lost over 1,100, reshared the post with a humorous remark:

"May also be because our content is 💩😄🤷‍♂️"

The 37-year-old is in Melbourne beginning his highly-anticipated partnership with Novak Djokovic.

In a surprising announcement late in 2024, Novak Djokovic brought Andy Murray to his coaching team. Taking to social media, the Serb said in a video:

"We played each other since we were boys. 25 years of being rivals, of pushing each other beyond our limits. We had some of the most epic battles in our sport. They called us game changers, risk takers, history makers. I thought our story may be over. It turns out, it has one final chapter. It's time for one of my toughest opponents to step into my corner. Welcome on board coach Andy Murray."

Later, in a statement, Murray said:

"I'm going to be joining Novak's team in the off-season, helping him to prepare for the Australian Open. I’m really excited for it and looking forward to spending time on the same side of the net as Novak for a change, helping him to achieve his goals."

Fans were excited to see former rivals Murray and Djokovic reunited on the court, this time with their new relationship as coach and player. The duo practiced together in Melbourne days ago.

While Djokovic has already started his 2025 season with a quarterfinal loss in Brisbane, Murray is set to be in his box for the first time at the Australian Open. The tournament draw was released on Thursday, January 9, revealing that Djokovic's quest for his 25th Grand Slam title will begin against 19-year-old American Nishesh Basavareddy.
