Andy Roddick has weighed in on the discourse surrounding the best men's tennis player to never win a Grand Slam tournament. The American believes that David Ferrer, who was one of the best players outside the famed 'Big 4' in the 2010s, doesn't get nearly enough shouts in the debate.

Alexander Zverev recently reignited the above discussion after winning his seventh ATP Masters 1000 title at Paris-Bercy last week. The German also reached the final of the 2024 French Open and the 2020 US Open, losing both matches in five sets.

In that regard, We Are Tennis took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (November 4) to prop Alexander Zverev as arguably the best ATP player to have not won a Major title yet. While a few fans agreed with the above notion, many didn't while naming other players they thought were better than Zverev.

Andy Roddick also chimed in on the discourse later, claiming that David Ferrer was up there with the best players who missed out on Grand Slam glory.

"Not nearly enough people say David Ferrer. So so so good," Andy Roddick wrote in the replies to We Are Tennis' post on X.

Ferrer turned pro in 2000 and would establish himself as a top player by 2007. The highlights of the Spaniard's career include finishing runner-up at the 2013 French Open, reaching the final of the 2007 Tennis Masters Cup and peaking at No. 3 in the ATP rankings in 2013.

Andy Roddick is certainly up to date when it comes to tennis, despite having retired from the sport more than a decade ago. The former US Open winner recently expressed his views on Elena Rybakina and Goran Ivanisevic's new partnership while speaking to Tennis Channel.

The American attributed Ivanisevic's past experience as a big server as a major factor behind Rybakina hiring the Croatian.

"I was surprised but I shouldn't have been (by Elena Rybakina hiring Ivanisevic as her coach). I think we've become a little narrow-minded when Goran's only working with men," Andy Roddick told Tennis Channel earlier this week. "So we didn't have his name in the conversation, but if you think about it, past my own ignorance, both big servers who can hit all spots on the court."

Ivanisevic previously served as Novak Djokovic's coach and helped him win nine Major titles. The two split up in March this year.
