After two very successful editions, the Pickleball Slam in 2025 will feature some familiar faces, including Andy Roddick, who will replace John McEnroe. The inaugural edition of the Pickleball Slam in 2023 saw Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick team up against John McEnroe and Michael Chang to take home the title.

The second edition of the Pickleball Slam took place in February 2024 where Agassi joined his wife and legendary former tennis player Steffi Graf against John McEnroe and Maria Sharapova. For the third edition of the Slam, the 2003 US Open champion Roddick will pair up with Eugenie Bouchard, a former/current tennis player who is bouncing between the sport of tennis and pickleball.

Bouchard was once a highly touted talent who made a deep run at Wimbledon but never quite figured things out after that. They will play against Graf and Agassi, who have become mainstays at the event.

Ahead of the competition, Roddick expressed some concern about his pickleball skills, hoping not to disappoint his teammate Bouchard.

"I worry the most about myself on the court. Like, I've literally played with a pro. We have to win; otherwise...it's on me. It's very squarely on my shoulders. Genie, I hope I live up to the very tiny expectations you have for my pickleball ability," Roddick said.

Back in November 2024, Graf and Agassi sent out a warning to former World No.1 Andy Roddick ahead of their Pickleball Slam matchup at the Michelob Ultra Arena on February 16, 2025.

Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi bantered with Andy Roddick ahead of Pickleball Slam 3

Ahead of their clash in the third edition of the exhibition event, Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi exchanged banter with Andy Roddick, with the latter taking a dig at his former Pickleball partner Andre Agassi. In a promo video shared by the tournament's Instagram handle on November 12, 2024, Roddick quipped:

"Andre, it's going to be great to see you... lose...at Slam 3," Roddick said.

In response, the eight-time Grand Slam winner said:

"Andy, you’ve been like a younger brother to me. But on February 16, you are the enemy. Can’t wait to see you," Agassi said.

It's pretty clear that the competitive spirit is through the roof with these two, with the final showdown set for February 16th in Las Vegas. The event, which boasts a prize purse of over $1 million, will be broadcast on ESPN.
