Meanwhile, Sabalenka's Wimbledon's ambitions crashed before they even started as a shoulder issue caused her to withdraw from the tournament. The two-time Grand Slam winner was set to face Emina Bektas and was replaced in the draw by Erika Andreeva who managed to secure a victory against Bektas but crashed out of the tournament in the second round.

Sabalenka was last seen competing at the Berlin Open which came to an abrupt end for her due to a shoulder injury. With a 5-1 deficit in the opening set, the World No. 3 was forced to withdraw from her quarterfinal match against Anna Kalinskaya. This was the first time Sabalenka had ever retired from a match due to an injury in her WTA career.

Aryna Sabalenka, who recently missed Wimbledon, is also set to miss the Paris Olympics later this year. The World No. 3 has been dealing with a number of health problems lately. With the US Open on hardcourts and the Olympics on claycourts scheduled later, Sabalenka thinks it's best to concentrate on her long-term health and performance.

Sabalenka has faced a few injury setbacks lately. The main reason for her withdrawal from the competitions was a shoulder issue. She also struggled with a lower back problem prior to that, which affected how she performed at the Italian Open. Her season so far has suffered due to these injuries, as she eyes a strong recovery.
