Iga Swiatek expressed gratitude to Aryna Sabalenka for bringing her out of her comfort zone and getting her to do a quirky TikTok. The two will butt heads against each other at the 2024 WTA Finals and are also the top two seeds.

Swiatek and Sabalenka are placed in different groups at the Year-End finals but shared a practice session ahead of the event's kick-off. They were also seen shooting a fun video together and sharing some laughs.

Swiatek was seen putting her foot on Sabalenka's phone indicating a possible transition video which has seemingly become the Belaursian's forte on TikTok.

Fans' speculations were proven right as the two women completed the video at the WTA Finals where they were all glammed up. They posted the video on their Instagram.

Speaking about the video with the WTA, Iga Swiatek called the TikTok video a 'big achievement'. She revealed that Sabalenka had come up with the idea to shoot the video and the Pole took it on since she thought it would be a nice opportunity to learn to execute 'proper TikToks'.

"Big achievement in my life. Well yeah, she convinced me to do it. Obviously, I'm not the kind of person who goes on TikTok a lot but it was really fun doing something else and I can learn from her actually how to do proper TikToks," Swiatek said.

The 23-year-old felt that this was also a great opportunity to show the tennis fraternity that the top two ranked tennis players got along and could have fun despite their fiery rivalry.

"So, I wanted to use this experience and use this opportunity and also I'm happy that we could show to fans that we were getting along because that is also important. We really respect each other so it was fun to to practice with Aryna and do a TikTok. Hopefully, there will be some more in future," she added.

While Sabalenka and Swiatek embraced their camaraderie via social media, they will have to return to being rivals in their hunt for the year-end World No. 1.

Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka switched places at the top of the WTA rankings and this sudden shift stunned the world of tennis. According to the WTA rules, all players are supposed to participate in a minimum of six WTA 500 events, and failing to comply would result in a penalty.

Swiatek played two such tournaments while Sabalenka played four. Due to this, their worst points from the worst-performing tournaments were deducted, which meant a 120-point deduction for the Pole, and 10 for the Belarusian. This caused a shift in their rankings.

The two women will look to clinch the 2024 WTA Finals and cement their spot as the year-end World No. 1. Iga Swiatek will kick off her campaign against eighth seed Barbora Krejcikova on November 3, while Aryna Sabalenka will face seventh seed Zheng Qinwen on November 2.
