Aryna Sabalenka booked her spot in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Australian Open with a dominant win over Mirra Andreeva. The Belarusian commemorated her triumph with a sweet gesture, which she later revealed was an idea that she and her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, had come up with together.
Sabalenka took a strong stride forward in her goal to win her third consecutive title at the Australian Open, claiming a 6-1, 6-2 win over Andreeva to advance to the quarterfinals of the Major. The World No. 1 commemorated her 18th consecutive win at the Melbourne Slam by snapping an endearing polaroid picture of the passionate crowd.
During her on-court interview, Aryna Sabalenka explained that she and her boyfriend Georgios Frangulis had decided to capture the highlights of their year in polaroids. The 26-year-old expressed her wish for more joyful moments, shedding light on their plans to frame the pictures in a creative collage and put it on display in their house.
"We actually came up with my boyfriend with an idea that throughout the year, we're gonna collect polaroid pictures and we're going to frame it. I hope we'll have a lot of cool moments this year to collect and we're going to have a cool little piece of art on the wall in the house," Aryna Sabalenka said.
Frangulis was present in the Belarusian's player box to cheer her on during the contest. The couple also enjoyed each other's company during the off-season, continuing their polaroid tradition by capturing lasting memories of their fun holidays in Paris and Miami.
