Businessman Giorgios Frangulis, the boyfriend of Australian Open finalist Aryna Sabalenko, has taken to social media to give his thoughts on the upcoming final between Sabalenka and American Madison Keys. Keys came through an astonishing three-set blockbuster semifinal against WTA World No. 2 Iga Swiatek with a razor-thin 10-point tie-break finish.

The final score was 5-7, 6-1, 7-6(8), which accurately reflected a pulsating match. Swiatek had seemed a step ahead of her opponent, with the notable exception of the second set, when Keys was able to impose her superior serve on the Polish player.

In the final set, the two players swapped service breaks at the death, with the finishing line in sight. Swiatek squandered a match point at 6-5 on her own serve and then carved out an early lead in the tie-break before Keys reversed matters at the very end and ran out a 10-8 winner. Frangulis immediately took to girlfriend Sabalenka's Instagram page to set up the final in three words, posting:

"Let's do this"

Frangulis and Sabalenka have been inseparable since he was seen cheering her on wildly from the stands at Flushing Meadows in 2024, after which she announced their relationship on Instagram after pocketing the US Open, stating:

"I’m so lucky to have you by my side. Your support is priceless."

The Brazilian entrepreneur founded Oakberry, the superfood brand, and since they began dating Sabalenka has joined the venture as a brand ambassador and even contributed her own signature açaí bowl for the brand.

Acai berries are the food's principal ingredient, and they are harvested from the Amazon rainforest, emphasizing Frangulis' connection to his Brazilian heritage. A trained lawyer, Frangulis nevertheless intended to become a businessman, telling Forbes:

“I always knew I wouldn’t be a lawyer. What I really wanted was to be an entrepreneur.”

Since partnering with Sabalenka, he has become her No. 1 fan, supporting her at her matches and championing her on social media. Sabalenka, the WTA-ranked World No. 1 and three-time Major winner, has justified her seeding in the 2025 Australian Open by making it through to the final, her third in a row.

After her 6-4, 6-2 rout of good friend Paula Badosa in the semifinal, Sabalenka congratulated her opponent in her post-match on-court interview:

“I’m so proud of myself. That was a super tough match against a friend. I hope she’s still my friend, I’m sure she’ll hate me for the next hour, day or two."

Despite Frangulis' steadfast support, Sabalenka will be wary of Keys' challenge in the final. The American is playing the best tennis of her career, and her obstinacy against Swiatek carried her through some difficult moments. The Sabalenka juggernaut, however, has rolled over her opponents in the tournament thus far and will be favored to do so again.
