Aryna Sabalenka’s boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, recently opened up about their relationship, describing it as "never boring." Sabalenka began dating Frangulis in early 2024, following the tragic loss of her former boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, who committed suicide in March 2024.
Frangulis was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. Initially pursuing a career in law, he studied at Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (FAAP) in 2014. However, he eventually discovered his true passion in entrepreneurship.
In December 2016, the Brazilian entrepreneur founded Oakberry, a superfood brand specializing in açaí products. Sabalenka has shown strong support for his venture, becoming an ambassador for Oakberry and even creating her own signature açaí bowl for the brand.
On Sunday, December 29, Aryna Sabalenka took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos of them from Brisbane, Australia. The "silly couple" looked like they were having a fantastic time. Her caption read:
“Tis the season for silly couple’s pictures, good outfits, and great food 😂❤️”
Sabalenka’s boyfriend commented under her post, describing their relationship as always fun and full of joy.
“Always silly never boring ♥️ te amo”, He wrote.
"He was my biggest support and really happy to have him by my side" - Aryna Sabalenka on boyfriend Georgios Frangulis
Aryna Sabalenka shared her happiness about having her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, by her side. She expressed how grateful she is to have him as her "biggest support" through all her ups and downs.
Frangulis has been a steadfast supporter of Sabalenka. The couple was first spotted together at the Madrid Open in April 2024, where she reached the finals. Later in the year, Frangulis cheered Sabalenka on as she claimed victory at the Cincinnati Masters in August and the US Open in September.
In an exclusive interview with People in September, the tennis legend revealed that the Brazilian had been a source of immense support during a difficult time following the untimely passing of her former boyfriend.
“There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” she said.
This year has been challenging for her. A shoulder injury forced her to withdraw from Wimbledon, and later, health issues affected her performance in the quarterfinals of the French Open.
Reflecting on the tough times, the current world No. 1 shared her gratitude, saying:
“Even when things are going wrong in my career. So yeah, he was my biggest support and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.”
Sabalenka is set to kick off the 2025 season at the Brisbane International in Australia. She will face Renata Zarazua on December 31 in the second round.
