Aryna Sabalenka's boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, reacted to their meeting with a Hollywood icon at the Australian Open final. Following the Belarusian top seed's loss to Madison Keys, Frangulis made his feelings known by sharing the moment he and Sabalenka had with Jackie Chan before the final.

Sabalenka faced off against America's Madison Keys in the final at the Rod Laver Arena, attempting to win her fourth Major title of her career on Saturday. In a match that went a little over two hours, it was the 19th-seeded American player who came out on top, winning the match 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 to win her maiden Major title.

Grand Slam finals are grand occasions that are often illuminated by the presence of celebrities from other fields. The Australian Open 2025 final saw acting legend Jackie Chan grace the Rod Laver Arena. The veteran actor met with Sabalenka and her boyfriend before the match started.

Frangulis posted a picture with Jackie Chan on his Instagram story, stating that while his partner's campaign at the Major ended on a disappointing note, meeting the Hollywood icon brightened the day up for them.

"Atleast we met Jackie Chan (which is cool af)" Frangulis wrote on Instagram.

However, despite her loss in the final, Sabalenka maintained her hold over the No.1 ranking on the WTA charts, a little over 200 points ahead of second-ranked Iga Swiatek.

Talking to the press after her final loss against Madison Keys, Sabalenka candidly confessed to being beaten by the better player on the day. She praised her American opponent's fearless approach in the pressure moments and said that Keys had an exceptional tournament.

"Well yeah that's definitely not the result I wanted to have but I don't know..I think she just stepped in and play like nothing to lose and was just going for her shots..and at that moment I went in so was great tennis...she fight throughout the tournament , she had lot of tough matches, she fought for it and in the finals she was really playing aggressively..yeah just wasn't my day," Sabalenka said in the press conference.

Sabalenka was on a 20-match-winning streak at the Australian Open before coming in the final against Keys. Overall the Belarusian was on an 11-match winning streak this season, having won the title at Brisbane before her Melbourne campaign.

At the 2025 Australian Open, not only was Aryna Sabalenka the top seed, but she was also looking for a third successive title at Melbourne Park. She would have become the fourth woman, after Justine Henin, Serena Williams, and Iga Swiatek to complete a hattrick of titles at the same Major in this century.

Meanwhile, Keys remains undefeated in 2025 so far, having won all the 12 matches she has played. The American also won a title in Adelaide before her Australian Open triumph.
