Sabalenka has been in great form during her 2024 title defense at this year's Happy Slam. The top seed has dropped only one set en route to the final, where she'll face the 19th seed and first-time finalist, Madison Keys
At the beginning of her last-four outing against 11th-seeded Paula Badosa on Thursday (January 23), Aryna Sabalenka fell behind by a break in the opening set. However, she started getting underneath the ball more after that, winning 12 of the next 16 games to close out a 6-4, 6-2 win in one hour and 27 minutes.
The Belarusian's boyfriend Georgios Frangulis, who is the founder of acai bowl brand Oakberry, took to his Instagram stories later on Thursday to repost a tribute from one of Sabalenka's fan pages.
In the picture that the Greek amplified, he could be seen applauding the World No. 1 after she made it to her third Australian Open final.
Frangulis expressed his love for his girlfriend in the caption of the story, taking pride in her reaching the Australian Open final. He wrote:
"@arynasabalenka Finals bound meu amor ❤️"
Frangulis, meanwhile, was born and raised in Brazil during his early years and pursued law. The Greek admittedly always wanted to be an entrepreneur, which led to him starting the organic food brand Oakberry with Renato Haidar in 2016.
Sabalenka and Frangulis started dating at some point last year following her ex-boyfriend and former hockey player Konstantin Koltsov's death by suicide. The Greek has been very supportive of the World No. 1's top-flight career, going by his past comments to the media.
