Aryna Sabalenka kickstarted her 2025 season in spectacular fashion with a Brisbane International title-win on Sunday, January 5. The win is likely to add to the World No. 1's confidence ahead of the Australian Open, the qualifiers for which are underway.
Sabalenka downed Renata Zarazua in the opening round of the 2025 Brisbane International. She next defeated Yulia Putintseva and Marie Bouzkova in the second and third rounds respectively. She registered a convincing straight-set victory over young talent Mirra Andreeva in the semifinals before coming out on top in a three-set battle with Polina Kudermetova to clinch the title.
Sabalenka's boyfriend and acai fruit brand Okaberry owner Georgios Frangulis was present in her player's box throughout the tournament. He congratulated the Belarusian by re-sharing the WTA's post on his Instagram story and captioning it:
"Congrats on another one meu amor! "
Frangulis' story also contained a group selfie that showed the couple with Sabalenka's team on board a private jet. The selfie taken by Sabalenka showed the 3-time Grand Slam champion sticking her toungue out in jest and a member of her team making a gesture that was blocked out as "censored".
A pin-drop showed the location as the Melbourne airport, indicating the World No. 1's arrival in the city for the 2025 Australian Open.
