Aryna Sabalenka's boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, swooned over her during her practice session leading up to the 2025 Brisbane International. In 2024, Sabalenka finished as the runner-up at the WTA 500 hard court tournament in Queensland, narrowly missing out on the title after losing to Elena Rybakina in the final.
Sabalenka concluded her 2024 season by competing at the WTA Finals. She defeated players like Zheng Qinwen, Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina in the group stage matches before being defeated by eventual champion Coco Gauff in the semifinals.
After her appearance in Riyadh, the World No.1 traveled to Abu Dhabi to participate in the 2024 World Tennis League. She was a part of Team Hawks alongside Sumit Nagal, Mirra Andreeva, and Jordan Thompson.
Following the conclusion of the WTL, Sabalenka traveled to Australia and is currently in Brisbane preparing to kick off her campaign at Brisbane International, which is scheduled to take place from December 30, 2024, to January 6, 2025.
The World No. 1 recently shared a photo on social media of the practice court with the temperature reading 93˚F. In the caption, she sarcastically mentioned how she "missed" the hot weather of Australia.
Sabalenka's boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis also shared a video of the Belarusian practicing, which she re-shared along with three heart emojis.
“Missed it 😂 💙 👌 ," Sabalenka captioned her Instagram story.
“💙 💜 💙 ," she added.
Sabalenka had an outstanding 2024 season, winning four titles including two Grand Slam and two WTA 1000 titles. She emerged victorious at the 2024 Australian Open and the Wuhan Open by defeating Zheng Qinwen in the finals.
Aryna Sabalenka also claimed the titles at the Cincinnati Open and the US Open by triumphing over Jessica Pegula in the finals of both tournaments. She also finished the year as the World No. 1.

During a press conference prior to her campaign at the 2025 Brisbane International, Aryna Sabalenka expressed her excitement and readiness to compete, saying that she is "ready to go."
Sabalenka stated that she loves playing in Australia and appreciates the "incredible" support she receives from the crowd.
"I feel fresh and ready to go. I love Australia and I always come here hungry and always come here ready. Ready as good as possible. The crowds are incredible here . I feel all the support here, and I think that's the best thing about Australia, that people are really, really, into tennis," Sabalenka said, via WTA Tennis.
Reflecting on her runner-up finish in 2024, the World No. 1 mentioned that she has a lot of "great memories" of competing in the WTA 500 tournament.
"I have a lot of great memories from here and just can't wait to start playing. Not the result I wanted at the end, but I'll try my best this year," she added.
Aryna Sabalenka is the top seed at the 2025 Brisbane International and she will kick off her campaign in the second round after being granted a first-round bye. She will face either Viktoriya Tomova or Renata Zarazua in her opening match.
