Ashleigh Barty's husband Garry Kissick recently got an iconic Liverpool jersey of the legendary Robbie Fowler for their son Hayden. Kissick is a die-hard fan of Liverpool and is looking to make his son walk down the same path.
Barty and Kissick, who is an Australian professional golfer, met each other in 2016. After five years of dating, the couple got engaged on November 15, 2021, following which they got married in July 2022. They welcomed their son Hayden a year after their marriage in July 2023.
Kissick is a huge supporter of Liverpool, one of the biggest clubs in the world. His Instagram username is gazlfc90, where the lfc seemingly stands for Liverpool Football Club. His bio is 'You'll Never Walk Alone', which is the club's anthem.
It looks like Ashleigh Barty's husband has already begun his journey to make his son Hayden a Liverpool supporter like himself. He recently took to Instagram to post a picture of a vintage Liverpool jersey of the player Robbie Fowler, which he bought for Hayden to fit into after a few years. Fowler scored 128 league goals for the club during his long stay.
“Cheeky little find for Haydos to grow into in ¾ years,” he captioned it.
This is not the first time Kissick has dressed Hayden in Liverpool's colors. He has often posted some photos of the father-son duo wearing Liverpool's jerseys on Instagram.
The father-son duo also took a trip to Anfield, Liverpool's stadium, and Kissick posted some highlights from their trip.
Ashleigh Barty had also recently shared an adorable picture of Hayden, whose face expressed joy as he donned a 'Wimbledon' shirt. She also took her son to Wimbledon this year, where the Aussie competed in the Legends doubles event.
“Without a doubt, not even a comparison. Absolutely” - Ashleigh Barty hails motherhood to be better than her Grand Slam triumphs
During an interview with the Body and Soul magazine earlier this year, Ashleigh Barty was asked if motherhood had been more gratifying than any of her Grand Slam wins to which the Aussie responded:
“Without a doubt, not even a comparison. Absolutely.” She adds, “There were plenty of times throughout my career when I thought training was hard or I had some tough days, but it just goes to a whole new level when you become a mum.”
Barty enjoyed an illustrious career, winning the French Open (2019), Wimbledon (2021) and the Australian Open (2022). She shocked tennis fans all around the world when she announced her retirement in 2022 and became the second player after Justine Henin to retire as the World No. 1.
