Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev posted contrasting results at the 2024 Italian Open, which has impacted their standing in the ATP Race to Turin rankings. While the World No. 1 slipped in the ladder, Zverev made big gains.
The German, who added 1,000 ranking points to his tally courtesy the run in the Italian capital, now finds himself placed at No. 2 with 3,085 points. Zverev beat the likes of Taylor Fritz and Nicolas Jarry en-route to his second Masters 1000 title at the Italian Open. He is now only behind Jannik Sinner, who continues to lead the ATP race to Turin rankings with 4,500 points.
For Novak Djkovic, a shock third-round defeat to Alejandro Tabilo saw his road to Turin get tougher. The Serb has not won any title in 2024 so far and is currently placed at a lowly No. 14 with 1,360 points to his name.
Daniil Medvedev, meanwhile, follows Zverev in the third position at the ATP race to Turin rankings. The Russian, who lost to Tommy Paul in the Italian Open fourth round, now has 2,950 points.
Casper Ruud (2,385 points), Andrey Rublev (2,120 points) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (2,065 points) make up the rest of the top six. They are followed by Carlos Alcaraz (1,900 points) and Alex de Minaur (1,855 points) on the ladder.
Grigor Dimitrov and Taylor Fritz, who squared off in the Italian Open fourth round, are also in close contention. They are placed at No. 9 and No. 10 with 1,675 and 1,580 points respectively.

The Chilean went on a giant-killing spree, ousting the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul en-route to his first Masters 1000 final. He gained 650 ranking points to climb to No. 17 in the ladder.
Italian Open semifinalists Tommy Paul and Alejandro Tabilo also find themselves in solid positions on the ATP race to Turin rankings heading towards the season’s mid-way mark. While the American is placed at No. 12 with 1,425 points, Tabilo is 13th with 1,363 points.
The top 20 also features Hubert Hurkacz at No. 11, sandwiched between compatriots Fritz and Paul, Ugo Humbert at No. 15 and Sebastian Baez at No. 17. Holger Rune, Felix Auger Aliassime and Karen Khachanov are placed at Nos. 18, 19 and 20 respectively.
