Naomi Osaka has gotten her 2025 season off to a winning start at the ASB Classic. She will now look to seal a semifinal spot at the tournament when she steps out on court on Day 5 (Friday).
The Japanese player has come through straight-sets wins over Lina Glushko and Julia Grabher in the opening two rounds. She will next take on American Hailey Baptiste in the last-eight encounter. Top seed Madison Keys and her fellow Americans Katie Volynets and Bernanda Pera will join Osaka on Day 5.
Keys, who has been ruthless in her opening two matches, will look to continue her dominant run against another big-hitting player in the form of fifth seed Clara Tauson. The American has dropped only 11 games in her two wins over Jaqueline Cristian and Lucia Bronzetti.
Tauson, on the other hand, has had to work much harder for her spot in the quarterfinals. After a straight-sets win over Lucrezia Stefanini, she won a marathon tussle against Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin, pulling through 4-6, 7-6(7), 7-6(3).
While Volynets will square off against Alycia Parks, Pera will take on Robin Montgomery for a semifinal spot. With plenty of tennis action lined up for fans, here's a look at the full Day 5 schedule of the ASB Classic:
