Moving forward with the countdown for the men's singles title favorites at the Australian Open 2025, Felix Auger-Aliassime is one of the picks to do well. His results in 2024 were inconsistent, and he performed the best on clay this year.

Auger-Aliassime advanced to the first Masters 1000 final of his career at the Madrid Open, and lost to Andrey Rublev in three sets. He also reached the fourth round of the French Open and the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics, only to be bested by Carlos Alcaraz on both occasions.

The young Canadian also made the last eight at another couple of events on clay. He won the bronze medal in mixed doubles at the Olympics alongside Gabriela Dabrowski as well. While he had quite a few highs on clay, his results on hardcourts weren't as memorable.

All five of Auger-Aliassime's titles have come on hardcourts, that too since the start of 2022, and he's a former US Open semifinalist as well. He didn't reach a final on the surface this year, and his best result was a single semifinal at an ATP 250 tournament.

Auger-Aliassime posted a solid 45-16 record on hardcourts in 2022. He won four titles that year, and made the last eight at the Australian Open as well. He also tallied seven wins over top 10 players that year, and beat Alcaraz twice when he was ranked No. 1.

Auger-Aliassime also registered wins over Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal that year. The 24-year-old is far too talented to not be a regular fixture at the deep end of Majors, and if he gets his act together, then he could spring a surprise next year.

Felix Auger-Aliassime's best result at a Major came at the US Open 2022 where he was a semifinalist. However, he has a 9-7 record in New York even after his semifinal finish. Instead, he has been far more consistent with his results in Melbourne.

Auger-Aliassime has a 12-5 record at the Australian Open with a 71 percent win rate. This makes it his best Major in terms of overall results. Aside from his quarterfinal showing in 2022, he also advanced to the fourth round in 2021 and 2023, and the third round this year. He failed to win his opener on his debut here in 2020.

The Canadian's track record at the Australian Open is quite decent. He's got the necessary tools to make a play for the title, and now it remains to be seen if he's able to execute his plans accordingly.
