Novak Djokovic, Nick Kyrgios, and several other tennis players sent their love to Dominic Thiem after he played his final Grand Slam match at the 2024 US Open. Thiem has won only one Grand Slam title in his career -the New York Major in 2020 by defeating Alexander Zverev in the final.
This year, Thiem received a wildcard entry into the main draw of the US Open. In his first-round match, he faced 13th seed Ben Shelton and was defeated 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. The Austrian, who is in his final season as a professional player, concluded his time at Flushing Meadows with 29 wins and nine losses.
Following his final match at the US Open, Dominic Thiem took to social media to share a series of pictures from his last outing at the Arthur Ashe Stadium . He expressed his gratitude to the US Open for providing him with unforgettable moments throughout his career and stated that New York holds a special place in his heart .
"New York. Just thank you! 🙏 10 years of memories! I celebrated my greatest triumph here in 2020. Lots of special moments and so much more! It was a great last time! ❤️ ," Thiem captioned his Instagram post.
Novak Djokovic, who is also in New York defending his title, re-shared Thiem's post on social media and praised him for his "amazing Grand Slam career." The Serb mentioned that it was an honor to share the court with the former World No. 3.
"Amazing Grand Slam career Domi! It's been a pleasure watching you play and sharing the court with you 🙌 💪 ," The Serb captioned his Instagram story.
Players like Denis Shapovalov, Shelby Rogers, Daniel Altmaier, and Joao Sousa, also lauded Dominic Thiem for his contributions to the sport as he bid farewell to his Grand Slam career.

Novak Djokovic, who kicked off his journey at the 2024 US Open with a dominant 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Radu Albot in the first round, recently shared his thoughts on Dominic Thiem finishing his Grand Slam career at the New York Major.
Djokovic extended his congratulations to Dominic Thiem on his remarkable Grand Slam career and said that the Austrian is one of the most respected and loved players on the tour .
"I would like to congratulate him [Dominic Thiem] on a great Grand Slam career [He's] just one of the nicest guys on the tour for many years. He's been respected. He's been admired. He's been loved by his peers, by colleagues, by everyone on the tour. Of course, fans, Djokovic said during his post-match press conference.
The Serb also commended the former World No. 3 for the dedication and hard work he put in throughout his career. He stated that Thiem can look back with pride on his accomplishments and that he will be fondly remembered by all:

Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem have faced each other 12 times on the ATP Tour, with Thiem emerging victorious in five of their seven encounters. At the Grand Slam tournaments, they have squared off four times, with both players winning two matches apiece.
