Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard recently revealed the kind of messages she gets from her mother Julie Leclair. Bouchard shared that her mother has been sending her articles about the best age to get married, hinting that she should settle down before it’s too late.

Bouchard has dated several athletes and celebrities over the years, such as hockey player Jordan Caron, NFL quarterback Mason Rudolph, investment banker Connor Davis and model Jack Brinkley-Cook. However, Bouchard has never been engaged or married.

On June 25, Bouchard shared a screenshot of her mother's messages on her Instagram story, where she sent her daughter links to articles with titles including '26 is the perfect age to get married, according to science' and 'Couples therapist reveals the best age to get married if you don’t want to get a divorce'.

The articles claim that getting married in your mid-twenties is ideal for happiness, stability, and compatibility, and that waiting too long could increase the risk of divorce and loneliness.

Bouchard, who turned 30 earlier this year, responded to her mom’s messages with a sarcastic and humorous reply as she did not seem to take her mother’s advice too seriously.

"Ok thx mom lol," Bouchard captioned her Instagram story.

Eugenie Bouchard previously disclosed another interesting fact about her mother Julie - how she named her and her siblings after members of the British and Monegasque royalty.

The Canadian star and her twin sister are named after Prince Andrew's daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice of York. Charlotte is named after Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Monegasque Princess Caroline, and William is named after William, Prince of Wales.

"You could say, my mom is a Royal fanatic. Ya. My twin sister is Beatrice, and my younger sister is Charlotte, and my younger brother is little Prince William," she revealed.

This royal theme even sparked questions during the 2014 Wimbledon Championships about Bouchard having princess-like tendencies, to which she responded (via TennisCanada.com):

"Yes. You can ask my coach or my parents or anyone that I can be a princess. I mean, they’re not horrible. But I can be moody in the morning. I’m not much of a morning person. My fitness trainer carries my bag. But that’s because I don’t want to get tired because I want to save all my energy for the match. I mean, I can demand a few things once in a while – but I do it with love," Eugenie Bouchard said.

Eugenie Bouchard played her latest match on the WTA tour at the 2023 Guadalajara Open in Mexico, where she lost in the second round to Veronika Kudermetova. Bouchard is currently active on the PPA Tour as a pickleball player.
