Barbora Krejcikova was at a loss for words after winning her maiden Wimbledon title on Saturday, July 13. She described it as the "best day" of her life.

The 31st seed defeated seventh seed Jasmine Paolini 6-2-, 2-6, 6-4 in one hour and 56 minutes at Centre Court to win the title at SW19. This was Krejcikova's second Grand Slam title after French Open 2021, where she defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6–1, 2–6, 6–4 to lift the trophy.

Krejcikova became the fourth Czech woman to win Wimbledon in the Open Era. Jana Novotna (1998), Petra Kvitova (2011 & 2014) and Marketa Vondrousova (2023) are the other three.

Krejcikova defeated the likes of Veronika Kudermetova, qualifier Katie Volynets, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and 11th seed Danielle Collins in the first four rounds this year. She then overcame 13th seed Jelena Ostapenko in the quarterfinal and fourth seed Elena Rybakina in the semifinal.

After the trophy presentation, Krejcikova was overwhelmed in the post-match interview. The former World No.2 said winning Wimbledon makes it the 'best day of her tennis career' and also the 'best day of her life.'

"Hello everybo.y! I don't have any words right now. I don’t have any words, it’s just unreal what just happened but it’s definitely the best day of my tennis career and also the best day of my life. I mean it’s super, super difficult to explain what I’m feeling right now," Barbora Krejcikova said.

Krejcikova also took a moment to congratulate Paolini and her team for her run in the tournament. She also recognised the Italian's consecutive final appearances at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

"I would like to congratulate Jasmine [Paolini] and her team. She was playing great two weeks and played great in the final. We were just fighting for every single ball and I mean at the end I was the lucky one. On the other hand she played Roland Garros (final), a couple of weeks ago and it’s amazing what she was able to actually achieve in such a short period. So big congratulations," she added.

Apart from the singles title she won at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, Krejcikova has also won two women's doubles titles at the grasscourt Major. The Czech clinched her first doubles title in 2018 and her second in 2022, partnering with compatriot Katerina Siniakova for both.

During the 2018 tournament, the Czech duo won against Nicole Melichar and Kveta Peschke 6–4, 4–6, 6–0 in the final. They also became the first team to win the Channel Slam, winning both the French Open and Wimbledon titles in the same season.

In 2022, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova returned as the second-seeded pair. They won against the defending champion Elise Mertens and her partner Zhang Shuai 6–2, 6–4 to claim the women's doubles title. It was the duo's fifth major title together.
