Martina Navratilova was outraged after a male activist escaped punishment despite throwing soup at a women's rights advocate Posie Parker. The activist, Ben Lindsay, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault but received a bunch of fines rather than a harsh punishment.

Navratilova hasn't been the one to shy away from voicing her opinions. She can often be seen discussing important topics on social media in order to bring the required attention to them.

In another such instance, she opined on a case that took place in Barnsley, where a women's rights advocate Posie Parker was attacked by a 34-year-old male activist Ben Linday, who threw a cup of soup at her during a Let Women Speak event at the City Hall.

However, Lindsay, who pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, didn't receive a custodial sentence or community service but rather received a bunch of fines.

Martina Navratilova, who frequently fights for women, was disappointed with how the case was resolved and took to X to write:

"Beyond disgraceful."

Navratilova also often expresses her views on the inclusion of trans athletes in women's sports, a notion she isn't supportive of. She has explained that the inclusion of trans athletes disrupts the level playing field for women.

Angie Tyrell revealed to Rediff in November that a muscular man with a hairy chest was showering in the women's changing room wearing a pink bikini at Commonwealth Place, a local recreational center. Tyrell had visited for a swim alongside her daughter and her friend.

The situation caused panic among the women there, who were instructed by Tyrell to change in the nearby toilet stalls. When she complained about what was happening, Tyrell was told 'Everyone's gender identity and expressions are valid'. The incident took place in July this year.

JK Rowling was surprised at what had gone down and tweeted how merely a few years after the 'MeToo' movement, the situation had changed drastically.

"Quite something to watch people who were keen to hitch their wagons to #MeToo a few years ago defend this kind of thing, isn't it? Then: 'male sexual predation is far more widespread than society admits!' Now: 'of course strange men should be able to shower with little girls," she wrote.

Martina Navratilova seconded Rowling by claiming that the protection of women should be of paramount importance.

"As predicted!!! You can’t have it both ways, left wingers! You just can’t. Protection of women and girls, should always come first. End of," she wrote.

Navratilova has often been supportive of Rowling's views. The American also defended the Harry Potter author when she launched a support service for women victims of sexual violence but faced severe criticism for it.
