Bianca Andreescu got emotional over a video compilation her fans surprised her with to wish her a speedy recovery after her painful exit from the Miami Open.
Andreescu's round of 16 match against Ekaterina Alexandrova abruptly ended after the Canadian player hurt her left ankle during the second set. This forced her to retire with the match at 7-6(0), 0-2.
Andreescu had to be escorted out of the court in a wheelchair and the camera also showed visuals of the Canadian's mom crying in the stands.
Since the match, the 22-year-old has shared an update with her fans, letting them know that she suffered two ligament tears in her ankle. However, she added that she is optimistic about her return and has began healing and working on the injury.
"Update," Andreescu tweeted, as she posted a picture of a text giving information about her current status.
Following her heartbreaking exit, a fan account on Twitter decided to surprise their favorite player with a compilation of heartfelt messages from fans across the world. They all were wishing the World No. 31 a speedy recovery.
"A few video messages from fans around the world. Get well soon Bibi, we are all by your side!!! It’s amazing to see you back doing rehab already, hopefully it’ll be a quick recovery for you!! We hope this will put a big smile on your face, we are all with you," the caption read.
The 22-year-old was surprised by the gesture and joked that she was crying in the club due to this.
"Are y’all serious rn?!??!?!? I’m legit crying in the club lol I love you all so much… did not expect this," Andreescu tweeted

Bianca Andreescu suffered a heartbreaking exit at this year's Miami Open in the round of 16 against Ekaterina Alexandrova as she sprained her left ankle mid-point in the second set.
Andreescu, on her way to the round of 16, defeated Brit Emma Raducanu and caused an upset by sending Maria Sakkari home in the round of 64. She also breezed past former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin.
Since her injury, the former World No. 4 has been updating her fans regarding her progress. After clarifying the nature of her injury, the Canadian shared a video of herself walking her dog while wearing a cast, and also a video of herself working out.

Although it is unclear as to which tournament will mark Andreescu's return, she is surely making headway with her injury and will be seen on court soon.
