Boris Becker called Hansi Flick's reign at FC Barcelona "amazing" after the German manager helped the Spanish giants pull off thumping wins over Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Days after beating Bayern 4-1, Barcelona defeated Madrid 4-0 in Flick's first El Classico.
Flick managed the German national team for two years before taking over at Barcelona ahead of the 2024/25 season. The 59-year-old has fit right in and has been doing wonders with the Spanish giants. He has picked up 12 wins in 14 games.
In the Champions League on Wednesday, Flick's Barcelona took on his former club, Bayern Munich. The Spanish team has historically been poor against their German opponents, but they pulled off an outstanding 4-1 win thanks to a hat-trick from Raphinha and another goal from former Bayern star Robert Lewandowski.
On Saturday, Flick's Barcelona traveled to the Santiago Bernabeu for his first El Classico. They thumped the home team, the reigning La Liga and Champions League champions, 4-0 with a brace from Lewandowski and goals from Raphinha and Spanish wonder kid Lamine Yamal.
TNT Sports uploaded a post about Flick's fantastic run as the new Barcelona manager and German tennis legend Boris Becker reshared it on his Instagram Story. He wrote:
"Hansi doing an amazing job."
Becker consistently follows the happenings in the sports world. He is an avid fan of basketball and football and regularly posts about it on social media.
Boris Becker agrees with Rio Ferdinand's views on Thomas Tuchel's appointment as new England manager
England's men's national team recently appointed Thomas Tuchel as their new manager. The German and the FA came under criticism from fans and several former players because of the manager not being an English national.
However, former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand was happy with the appointment. In a reaction video he uploaded to social media, Ferdinand said:
"I know for a fact these players will be sitting there ringing each other saying ‘what’s he like?’. Mason, Mason Mount, what’s he like? Saka at his club with Kai Havertz, 100%, they’re calling these guys. Declan Rice will be doing the same."
"It will invigorate some, galvanize some players. There'll be a little bit of apprehension, a bit of anxiety creeping in. But, I'm sure he'll go in there, settle in on Day 1 and talk them through how he's going to get them to be winning a trophy," he added.
Six-time Grand Slam winner Boris Becker agreed with Ferdinand as he reshared the Englishman's video and wrote:
"Well said Rio"
Becker had also congratulated his compatriot Tuchel and stated that he would support England except for when they play against Germany.
