Tennis legend Boris Becker recently marveled at Fabio Fognini's appearance in the latest episode of 'Ballando con le Stelle', the Italian version of the hit show Dancing with the Stars. The Italian impressed the tennis great with his dazzling moves.
Fognini, who once resided in the upper echelons of the tennis world, has still been going at it at the age of 37. The Italian recently finished his 2024 season by winning the Montemar Challenger, where he was the top seed. However, he decided on a very unique way to spend his off-season. He decided to put his dancing chops to the test by appearing on the popular show Ballando con le Stelle.
Though Fognini didn't participate in the reality show, he teamed up with the professional dancer Giada Lini as the 'Dancer for the Night' in the second semifinals. The duo performed Jive, a popular upbeat partner dance, and their performance to the song 'Great Balls of Fire' was met with an electrifying response.
Here's a clip of their performance:
"From tennis champion to dance star, Fabio Fognini showed grit, precision and a unique charisma at #BallandoConLeStelle ! 🌟," a translated version of the show's caption.
Their performance was not only a hit in Italy but also sparked reactions from the tennis world. Boris Becker was in awe of Fabio Fognini's smooth moves as he took to his Instagram story to say,
"Fabio is absolutely killing it."
Alexander Zverev also commented on Fognini's performance via his Instagram story calling it the 'single greatest thing' he had witnessed in 2024.
It is no surprise that Becker knows a thing or two about scintillating dance moves as his daughter Anna Ermakova won 'Let's Dance', the German equivalent of the aforementioned Dancing with the Stars, last year.
