Boris Becker marveled at Jenson Brooksby boldly opening up about living with autism. The American, in a candid discussion, said that his goal was to inspire families to never give up.

Brooksby, who has suffered a tumultuous last two years due to the 18-month suspension he received for missing three drug tests, revealed that he had been living with autism since a young age and was nonverbal till the age of four.

“It's time for me to share something that I have kept quiet for my entire life. I was diagnosed on the severe end of the spectrum as a very young child. I was nonverbal until the age of four. It took 40 hours a week of intensive ABA therapy," Jenson Brooksby said.

He added that he owed his success to his parents, who never gave up on him and hoped that his story inspired others.

"My mother never gave up and did everything to help me. I wouldn't be where I am today without her. I am lucky to have parents who refused to give up. I decided it was time to tell my story. I hope this inspires families to never give up."

He opened up about how he had struggled during the duration of his suspension but was eager to make his return.

"The last 23 months have very been tough on me. Surround yourself with good people and never give up. I am grateful to be returning to pro tennis in Australia. See you soon!”

Boris Becker was moved by the 24-year-old being candid about his struggles and took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise him.

"Love your honesty and good luck in Australia! We all carry extra baggage nobody knows about …. You will inspire millions of young athletes around the world that giving up is NOT an option! Well done Jenson," Becker tweeted.

Brooksby broke the mental health taboo when he opened up about living with autism.
