Calm Serena Williams & hyped husband Alexis Ohanian present interesting contrasts watching LAGC rout Tiger Woods-led TGL team

Contrasting emotions were on display in the Los Angeles Golf Club owner's box, with Serena Williams maintaining a calm demeanor while her husband, Alexis Ohanian, showed unrestrained excitement. LAGC began its TGL campaign with a dominant victory over Tiger Woods-led Jupiter Links GC.

On Tuesday, January 14, LAGC and Jupiter Links commenced their TGL campaigns. Tiger Woods featured for the Jupiter Links along with Kevin Kisner and Max Homa. Meanwhile, LAGC boasted a team of Justin Rose, Collin Morikawa, and Sahith Theegala.

The 15-time Major champion, however, was on the losing end of the match due to a dominant display from the LAGC. The Serena Williams and family-owned team won 12-1.

Reddit co-founder and Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, shared their contrasting reactions during the game on his Instagram Story. Initially, Williams watched with a blank expression, while Ohanian clapped and cheered with visible excitement.

Eventually though, Williams joined in the enthusiasm, smiling and clapping along.

The second match of the TGL campaign at the SoFi Center in Florida attracted notable attendees, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, U.S. soccer star Alex Morgan, and six-time NFL Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall.

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian makes his feelings known after LAGC's debut at TGL

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian has regularly posted about the TGL on social media. After his team, Los Angeles Golf Club won their debut match against Tiger Woods-led Jupiter Links, he reshared TGL's post on X and wrote:

"Good start to the season, guys. 🫡😤💪"

In the comments, one fan claimed that the lopsidedness of the first two matches of the inaugural TGL has "not been great." Notably, last week, the New York Golf Club was defeated 2-9 by the Bay Golf Cub. Ohanian responded by writing:

"Agreed! Let’s see what happens next week. But we def want this league to be competitive af and we’re building from scratch here so nothing sacred - goal is entertainment excellence"

The TGL was founded in 2022 by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy along with other entities. Ohanian was one of the first investors, buying the LAGC franchise. He owns the team along with his wife Serena, their daughters Olympia and Adira, and Serena's sister Venus.
